For many years, tales of the "Marsh Girl" have lingered over the coastal town of Barkley Cove in North Carolina. Consequently, when the charming Chase Andrews is discovered dead in late 1969, immediate suspicion falls on Kya Clark, the enigmatic Marsh Girl. Contrary to the town's gossip, Kya is a perceptive and thoughtful individual who has managed to thrive in the solitude of the marshland she considers her sanctuary. Over time, she's formed bonds with the seagulls and learned life's lessons from the shifting sands. As she matures, she starts longing for human connection and love.
