A remarkable edition of Helmut Newton's celebrated photographs has been reproduced in "Helmut Newton: One-off," showcasing many images that were previously unseen. Helmut Newton, a German-Australian photographer, holds a prominent position in the world of fashion photography. Drawing inspiration from Expressionist cinema, film noir, and surrealism, he was a prolific creator whose bold vision shaped modern photography and visual arts. In 1999, Newton collaborated with his friend and collector, Gert Elfering, to create a unique photographic album that captured his groundbreaking work. This new edition faithfully retains the album's original size, allowing readers to fully appreciate the extraordinary craftsmanship and innovation of Newton's art.The album contains over 100 photographs, including 8 unique Polaroids, 16 chromogenic prints, and 79 gelatin silver prints, each complemented by Newton's handwritten pencil notes. In addition to the images, the book features a foreword by Philippe Garner, a renowned photography specialist and Vice President of the Helmut Newton Foundation. An enlightening interview between Matthias Harder, Director of the Helmut Newton Foundation, and Gert Elfering is also included, providing a deep dive into Newton's creative journey and artistic brilliance.
