The author meticulously illustrated the Primate's religious and national background, tracing back to such events as the Swedish invasion, the partitions of Poland, the reclamation and construction of Poland's independence in the interwar period, the turmoil of World War II and the Nazi occupation, the era of communist domination, and the detailed period of the "Solidarity" movement from 1980-1981. Similarly, major ideological and socio-political trends like communism and democracy are thoroughly discussed, shedding light on the Primate's perspectives.
