The story follows River Langston-Lee, whose life takes a turn in a single day when he ends a relationship, walks out of his SATs, and spectacularly resigns from his job at his parents' café in Seattle. Seeking a fresh start, River lands a position at Bingsu for Two, a struggling Korean café, which he hopes could be his shot at redemption. However, standing in his way is the irritable Sarang Cho, his straight-shooting co-worker, who seems equally intent on both making River's life difficult and reviving her family's business. When River inadvertently posts a viral video featuring the quirky café staff on his popular online fandom account, the café gains unexpected fame. To maintain their new popularity and boost business, River and Sarang must feign a chemistry that suggests romance rather than adversity. As Bingsu for Two prospers, attracting the attention of River's ex-girlfriend and his parents' neighboring café, River must decide whether to continue letting others influence his life or to fight for the café that feels like home. Along the way, he also discovers that Sarang, his green-haired co-worker, might not be as cold-hearted as he once believed.
