Nesim all around me

The term "Nesim" translates to miracles in Hebrew. This notion aptly captures the essence of any Polish Jew's survival during the horrific era of genocide, which was humanity's most relentless to date. The series of experiences that David Mitzner underwent seem far from what one would typically deem miraculous: being detained, spending seven years in a Russian labor camp, and being compelled to escape his homeland are not common examples of events that invite gratitude. Despite this, David often recites the phrase, "All around me there were nesim," when recounting the extraordinary occurrences of his life. Rather than focusing on the bitterness or despair, which are understandably warranted, he perceives these life-altering events as acts of divine intervention, graciously granted by a benevolent God to an ordinary individual.
