Ayşe Kulin - sylwetka autora
Turkish author and journalist was born in Istanbul, with a father of Bosniak descent. She graduated from İstanbul Özel Amerikan Robert Lisesi, focusing on literature. Before fully dedicating herself to writing, she worked as a journalist and reporter in various Istanbul-based press outlets. Her literary debut was a collection of stories titled "Güneşe Dön Yüzünü," published when she was 43. Much of her work is set against the backdrop of World War II. Some of her notable publications include: "Güneşe Dön Yüzünü" (1984), "Sevdalinka" (1999), "Nefes Nefese" (2002, translated into Polish as "Ostatni pociąg do Stambułu," published by Wydawnictwo Albatros, 2010), "Gizli Anların Yolcusu" (2011), and "Handan" (2014). She has been married twice; first to Mehmet Sarper from 1960, with whom she had two sons, Mete and Ali, before their divorce. Her second marriage was to Eren Kemahlı from 1967, resulting in another divorce and two more sons, Cem and Ömer Selim.
