Florence Marryat - sylwetka autora
An accomplished British author and actress, Florence Marryat was the daughter of the writer Capt. Frederick Marryat and Catherine Marryat. She gained recognition for her sensational novels and deep engagement with notable spiritual mediums of the late 19th century. Her literary contributions include works like "There is No Death" (1891) and "The Spirit World" (1894). Throughout her career, she was remarkably prolific, producing over 70 books, in addition to numerous newspaper and magazine articles, short stories, and stage works. Between 1876 and 1890, Marryat pursued a career in performance arts. Initially, she created and participated in a comic touring piano sketch alongside George Grossmith. Later, she took part in dramas, comedies, and comic operas with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, also presenting her own one-woman show. Beyond acting, she was a lecturer, dramatic reader, and public entertainer. In the 1890s, she also founded and managed a school of Journalism and Literary Art.
