The "Aktion Deutsch" series is designed specifically for middle school students who are either beginning (in parts 1, 2, and 3) or continuing (parts 2, 3, and 4) their German language studies after primary school, allocating two hours per week for this purpose. It prepares students for the basic (parts 1, 2, 3) and extended (parts 2, 3, 4) levels of the middle school exam, as aligned with the exam guide starting from the 2011/2012 academic year. The series guides learners to achieve level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).One key advantage of the "Aktion Deutsch" textbook is that it is the sole and pioneering resource developed in alignment with the new educational legislation. Instead of traditional writing exercises, it includes tasks involving movement, gestures, associations, and collaborative pair and group work. The textbook offers a gradual progression of material and covers an optimal amount of content, encouraging the development of communication skills not only in speaking tasks but also through grammar exercises and listening or reading comprehension.Grammar is carefully constructed within the curriculum, and the unique layout ensures one page equates to one lesson, allowing for flexible engagement with two pages of material over two hours. Another innovative feature is its neuro-didactic approach, which engages all senses through exercises leveraging movement, gestures, and sound recognition, prompting students to ask and answer in chains, act out roles, and work collaboratively in pairs or groups. Additionally, from the first grade, the "Training" section presents exam-style tasks to familiarize students with the exam format. Each chapter includes real-world and cultural insights in Polish, a list of educational goals at the start, language warm-ups, and review games ("Wiederholung") before tests with evaluations. Sections such as "Grammatik" and "Aktiver Wortschatz" highlight essential vocabulary. The textbook is complemented by resources such as holiday-themed lessons, project proposals, communication phrases for daily use, grammar tables, a sample exam sheet, and a German-Polish glossary covering textbook vocabulary. The "Aktion Deutsch 1" textbook was crafted from scratch to meet the new criteria set by the Polish Ministry of Education, effective from September 2015, in accordance with the February 21, 2014, Educational System Act amendments.
