In August 2021, Żwakowski Publishing House will release "Sugar, You Rascal!", the English-language version of the popular book by Waldemar Cichoń, originally titled "Cukierku, Ty Łobuzie!". This charming story of a mischief-making kitten who turns the lives of a family upside down has already captivated young readers. Waldemar Cichoń, who admits he wrote the book quite by accident, has seen it go through numerous editions. With over 300,000 copies sold, it has become one of the best-selling children's books in Poland, even making it onto the Ministry of National Education's reading list for primary school students in grades I-III. The adventures of this remarkable feline have now expanded into a ten-part series. The English translation, thoughtfully done by Jakub Morawa and carefully edited and adapted by Michael Doherty, opens up the story to English-speaking audiences.
Staying true to the original, the visual design of "Sugar, You Rascal!" is crafted by the talented illustrator Dariusz Wanat from Łódź. The book's straightforward language not only appeals to young readers but also serves as a useful tool for Polish students learning English.
