Yunka ends up residing with her last remaining relatives at the Thorny Grove estate, an imposing and eerie home of the peculiar Hawthorne family. The family patriarch mourns his deceased wife while hosting extravagant parties; his son seeks to uphold the family name and assume control, and his daughter battles a mysterious ailment. Signa has a chilling secret; she can communicate with the dead. When she starts being haunted by an apparition, she discovers it's her cousins' mother's unrested spirit who was poisoned. With her newfound family in jeopardy, Signa begins a quest to uncover the murderer, aided by a mysterious, charismatic stable boy. Yet, her most potent ally may be Death himself, a seductive and perilous figure who is always by her side.
