The exploration of protective, educational, and didactic processes within their social context has a rich tradition within the field of pedagogy, tracing back to before this discipline was formally established. This interest is evident in the evolution of social pedagogy as a sub-discipline that bridges various fields, as well as within specialized areas like special education, early childhood education, preschool, and protective pedagogy. By integrating sociological theory and methodologies, educators have expanded and enriched their research endeavors. Nonetheless, these opportunities seem not to be utilized to their fullest extent. A notably underexplored area within this context is the sociology of educational diagnostics, specifically the social distance theory, which seeks to unravel the mechanics of social life. This theory has yet to gain significant attention from educators, often overshadowed by other sociological theories which are more prominently employed in both theoretical frameworks and the formulation of strategic changes in pedagogy.
