Enterprises listed on stock exchanges must engage actively with their investors; however, there is limited research on corporate communication practices within emerging markets. This book aims to explore the textual interactions between companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, equity analysts, and investors.
In this volume, we disclose the findings from three empirical investigations into Polish financial documents: financial reports, letters to shareholders, and sell-side analyst reports. By integrating finance and language pragmatics methodologies, the studies offer a comprehensive insight into the reasons and repercussions of financial communication.
This exploration of communication in the Polish language contributes to the expanding discourse about the significance of language and communication in the operations of financial markets. The book begins with a discussion of the theories and concepts surrounding corporate disclosure. It follows with an evaluation of the Polish informational environment. In the subsequent chapter, it addresses the linguistic features found in financial documents. The concluding chapter details empirical research conducted through content analysis methods, experiments, and market-based approaches.
