Summer Preston is a dedicated student with big aspirations. She aims to become a sports psychologist and plans to pursue further studies. To achieve this goal, she must focus on hockey as her research topic, a subject she despises. Her academic advisor presents her with a difficult choice: she must overcome her aversion to the sport or forfeit her spot in the postgraduate program. In a parallel situation, Aiden Crawford, the hockey team's captain, makes a thoughtless mistake that threatens the entire season. As a result, the coach assigns him an unusual penalty: he will be the main subject of Summer's research. This arrangement is the last thing Aiden wants, especially since Summer seems poised to lash out at him. Aiden embodies all of Summer's negative stereotypes about hockey players—completely absorbed in the game, quick-tempered, and indifferent to politeness. However, they must tolerate each other until the tension between them melts away.
