Crisis has always played a significant role in our lives, remaining a key element of today's world, which grapples with ongoing economic, environmental, and health challenges. "Faces of Crisis in 20th- and 21st-Century Prose. An Anthology of Criticism" provides an exceptional examination of how the theme of crisis has been approached by literary figures from the 20th and 21st centuries.
This anthology stands out due to its diverse range of perspectives. It explores literary works that, while previously scrutinized by academics, have not been specifically analyzed through the lens of crisis and its various manifestations. Many of the selected pieces were composed or gained renewed attention in the past twenty years. As far as I am aware, no other collection offers such an in-depth investigation of this kind.
