Civic participation and engagement have gained significant attention in recent years, capturing the interest not only of social scientists but also of the general public. Exploring these concepts within a specific group of countries can be a valuable endeavor to assess their effectiveness in examining political phenomena. This is precisely what the editors and contributors of the monograph "Civic Participation in the Visegrad Group Countries after 1989" set out to achieve. Considering that post-communist societies are often viewed as grappling with the lingering negative impacts of their former political systems on civic values, the focus of this research is especially pertinent.
