Bogusław Schaeffer - sylwetka autora

Bogusław Julian Schaeffer was a renowned Polish musicologist, composer, music critic, author, and academic lecturer. Born in Lviv, he graduated from the Jagiellonian University with a degree in musicology and also studied composition at the Academy of Music in Kraków. Schaeffer specialized in contemporary music and the history of music, creating numerous classical music pieces, including sonatas, concertos, and symphonies. He was an influential educator, teaching at institutions in Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. His contributions to musicology and the popularization of music were substantial, resulting in many publications where he was either the author or co-author. Schaeffer's distinguished career earned him honors such as the Knight's Cross and the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He passed away 35 days after celebrating his 90th birthday.
