Nell Gallows stands as the lone survivor of Riøt, an elite dark forces unit, following a devastating assault two years prior. It comes as little surprise that she emerges as the leading contender for a position in the special ops team, Malum—a squad renowned for taking on assignments no one else dares to accept. However, tensions are high, as Malum holds Riøt responsible for their only loss during the Patagonia mission. Nell finds herself on a flight to California, seemingly heading straight towards a death sentence. In an attempt to seize a final moment of freedom, she opts for a brief encounter—a one-night stand. Unbeknownst to her, the enigmatic man she chose turns out to be her new colleague, the very person she hoped to avoid: her commanding officer, Bones. Reputed for his ruthlessness and animosity towards her, Bones ensures Nell feels his disdain. Despite his harsh demeanor, when a mission spirals out of control, leaving him unable to reach the evacuation point, Nell defies every logical impulse and stays behind. Together, they face an uncertain future, bound by secrets and the fragile trust that becomes their sole reliance in a world stripped of certainty.
