The book explores the findings from the 'Coins of the Roman Republic in Central Europe' project conducted at the Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw. It delves into discoveries of Roman Republic coins located in East-Central Europe, especially in areas north of the Sudetes and the Carpathian mountains, which include regions of Poland, western Belarus, and western Ukraine. These coins date back to the first Roman emissions up until 27 BC.This specific area was never integrated into the Roman Empire, signifying that all Roman coins uncovered there are considered imports. The principal aim of this research is to analyze when, why, and how these Republican coins were brought into this region, as well as to understand their function and significance within it.Additionally, the book provides a detailed inventory of these coin finds accompanied by an extensive commentary. It merges aspects of numismatics and archaeology, placing itself at the intersection of these fields.
