Czesław Czapliński, an esteemed photographer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker, was born in 1953 in Łódź. Since 1979, he has split his time between New York and Warsaw. Throughout his illustrious career, Czapliński has authored 45 albums and books and organized more than 100 photographic exhibitions at esteemed locations such as the National Gallery of Art "Zachęta" in Warsaw, the Art Museum in Łódź, the National Museum in Warsaw, and the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw. His exhibitions have also been held internationally, spanning New York, Chicago, Nice, Moscow, London, Munich, and Brussels. Czapliński's lens has captured some of the most distinguished figures across business, culture, politics, and sports, including Muhammad Ali, Leonard Bernstein, Michael Jackson, and Andy Warhol, among others. Czapliński's photographs have been featured in globally recognized publications such as "The New York Times," "Time," "Vanity Fair," "The Washington Post," and "Newsweek," as well as esteemed Polish magazines like "Twój Styl" and "Viva." His works are preserved in prestigious collections, including the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, the New York Public Library, the National Museum in Warsaw and Wrocław, the Art Museum in Łódź, and the National Library in Warsaw, alongside numerous private collections worldwide.
