There, she adopted a local street dog and welcomed her daughter into the world. The dog, intriguingly, has quite the spirited temperament. After spending six years in Cambodia, Snyder moved to Washington, DC, where she developed and hosted a popular three-minute segment titled "The Global Guru," broadcasted on over 100 NPR stations nationwide. The program's excellence was recognized in 2010 with a "Zeitfunk Award" for being the third most licensed interstitial by the Public Radio Exchange (PRX).
