Jerzy Ciechański - sylwetka autora
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, he later earned his Ph.D. in political science from Northern Illinois University. He has taught at universities in both Poland and the USA and is currently part of the Institute of International Relations at the University of Warsaw. He took part in Poland's accession negotiations for entry into the European Union. His roles have included being the chair of the Governing Board of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions in the EU, the Committee on Social Cohesion of the Council of Europe, and vice-chair of the EU Council's Social Protection Committee. He has published extensively on topics such as the role of the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security, human social rights, and social policy and employment within the EU.
