Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin - sylwetka autora
Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin, born in 1968 in Yetha, within the Hor region of Kham in East Tibet, grew up in a family of nomadic cattle herders. During his early years, he assisted his family in tending to sheep and yaks and was taught to read and write by his grandfather. At the age of nineteen, he joined Lungkar Monastery, where he received guidance from renowned lamas, including Uri Lama Nyima Lodrö and Lopön Drangsong Yungdrung. During his time at the monastery, he completed the traditional foundational practices and delved into Tibetan grammar, poetry, and various branches of Bönpo philosophy, such as logic, parchyin, wuma, dulwa, and cosmology. He took on the role of umze, or chant master, for three years at Lungkar.
At twenty-five, Tsultrim Tenzin transitioned to Menri Monastery in Central Tibet. There, Pönlob Kalzang Nyima instructed him on Denö Dzö, a text by Shardza Trashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche (1859-1935), and the A-Thri Bönpo Dzogchen manual, allowing him to achieve a greater understanding of the Great Perfection. In 1993, he embarked on a challenging journey to Triten Norbutse Bönpo Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal. Under the mentorship of his root Master, Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, he enriched his understanding of Sutra, Tantra, and Dzogchen and studied astrology, traditional Tibetan medicine, and Sanskrit. While there, he served as the monastery’s chant master for six years and as gekhö (disciplinarian) for three years. After completing a rigorous 14-year study program, Tsultrim Tenzin passed the Geshe examination in 2001, attaining a Geshe degree, comparable to a Doctor of Philosophy.
In 2002, Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche appointed him as Drubdra Khenpo, the Abbot of the Meditation School at Triten Norbutse Monastery. Since then, he has dedicated himself to teaching Dzogchen in the meditation school as well as Sutra, Tantra, Dzogchen, astrology, and mandala painting in the monastic dialectic school. Alongside his teaching duties, Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche maintains a disciplined practice of Dzogchen meditation and Magyu tsalung, thrulkhor, and tummo for two hours each morning. Occasionally, he travels to regions like Tibet, China, Japan, Europe, and England to impart his wisdom on Dzogchen, Tantra, and tsalung.
