The third edition of "Close-up" enables learners to connect with the world through captivating photography, video, and real-world stories from National Geographic. Addressing relevant topics on a global scale, it integrates a thorough four-skills curriculum to foster essential language abilities and life skills that teenagers require to excel in international exams, classroom settings, and their future profession. Each unit's content has been substantially updated to align with the current, global perspectives held by students today. A newly designed layout aids both students and educators in effortlessly navigating through the material. The Student's Book and Workbook have seen their exam tasks and tips revised to align with the 2020 updates for Cambridge Key and Preliminary exams. Additionally, a new ExamView test generator enhances students' familiarity with exam formats, bolstering their chances for success. New "Live well, study well" lessons are concentrated on enhancing life and study skills, providing students with tools to efficiently manage their academic and personal endeavors. These lessons involve engaging with texts and practical advice on handling stress, social media, and friendships, encouraging independent thinking and sparking discussions. Each lesson concludes with a project that fosters learner independence and provides practice in presentation skills and teamwork. Each Student's Book is enriched with six intriguing new videos, presenting students with the chance to engage with authentic audio-visual materials. These videos aim to broaden students' understanding of their world, while accompanying tasks in the Student's Book enhance comprehension and encourage further topic discussions. In line with current CEFR standards, New Close-up includes at least two mediation activities in every unit, with the Teacher's Book offering guidance on effectively utilizing these activities.
