Zongchao Peng - sylwetka autora

Dr. Zongchao Peng holds prominent roles at Tsinghua University in China. He is a professor at the Institute of Social Organization and Social Governance, leads the School of Public Policy & Management as chairman of the school council, and directs both the Center for Crisis Management Research and the Center for Social Risk Assessment. Between 2006 and 2007, he was a visiting fellow at the Asia Program of Harvard Kennedy School. He achieved his Ph.D. in Political Science from Peking University in 1999 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Tsinghua University soon after, concentrating on China's emerging public hearing systems.

Since 2019, Dr. Peng has served as the vice president of the Chinese Public Administration Association. His involvement in public administration also includes being a council member of the Chinese Emergency Management Association since 2015. Additionally, since 2006, he has advised the Ministry of Health/National Health Committee of China as a member of the National Expert Advisory Council for Public Health Incidents.

Dr. Peng teaches graduate courses such as Public Crisis Management and Public Policy Analysis. His online course on Public Crisis Management was nationally recognized by the Ministry of Education in 2018. Furthermore, he has received several accolades for his co-authored works: a book on cooperative-harmony democracy in China was acknowledged with an award in Beijing in 2017, and another on the public hearing system in China was honored by the Ministry of Education in 2007. His Ph.D. dissertation titled “A Comparative Study of Direct Election Systems for National People’s Representative” earned an award from Peking University in 2001.
