Peter Bergting, born on January 23, 1970, is a Swedish creator known for his work in fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres. His vast bibliography includes six young adult novels and three graphic novels, along with a multitude of short stories and articles published in Swedish and English. Through collaborations, he has either authored or co-authored over 50 books, including 20 graphic novels, with his work being available in countries like the United States, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, and Italy.
His journey into the realm of art started nearly 30 years ago, contributing illustrations to the magazine Sinkadus. Bergting's expertise was honed over nearly a decade focused on roleplaying games, working with renowned companies such as Target Games, FASA Corporation, Paizo Publishing, and White Wolf. His portfolio includes artwork for more than 40 issues of Dungeon Magazine and contributions to games like Vampire, Mage, and Werewolf among others, amassing hundreds of art contributions across books and games.
In 2006, Peter ventured into new territory by publishing "The Portent," marking his debut as both writer and illustrator of a graphic novel. Over the years, he has collaborated with notable authors like Alexander Irvine, Jens Lapidus, Richard Morgan, Clive Barker, and Joe R. Lansdale. His recent projects include a series of graphic novels with Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, such as "Baltimore: The Witch of Harju," "The Cult of the Red King," "Empty Graves," and "The Red Kingdom," all released by Dark Horse Comics.
Beyond graphic novels, Bergting has also created cover and interior artwork for children’s and fantasy literature, featuring esteemed authors like J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, Astrid Lindgren, and Frank Frazetta. His contributions have garnered recognition, including the 2013 Gran Guinigi award for Best Short Comic with Joe R. Lansdale, and an Eisner Award for the anthology "Popgun 3." In 2015, the Swedish Academy of Comics honored him with the Adamson statuette.
