Jussi Adler-Olsen - sylwetka autora
Jussi Adler-Olsen, born on August 2, 1950, in Copenhagen, is the youngest of four siblings and the only son in the family. From an early age, at five, he received a special royal approval to use his unique name, Jussi. Over the years, before committing to a career as a professional writer, Adler-Olsen explored diverse fields as a scout, a rock guitarist, an encyclopedia editor, a filmmaker, composer, and scriptwriter. He also engaged in comic book creation and worked as a publisher.
His understanding of international conspiracies and mental illnesses was shaped by his studies in political science, sociology, medicine, and film as well as by his early life spent in psychiatric hospitals, which were closely tied to his father's profession.
Adler-Olsen made his literary debut in 1997 with the novel "Alfabethuset," which quickly gained traction on European bestseller lists. However, true fame came with his crime-thriller series focused on Department Q of the Danish police. He currently resides in Allerød, near Copenhagen, is married, and has an adult son. In his leisure time, he enjoys restoring old houses and composing music.
