My name is Stephanie Perkins, and I'm an author who crafts stories for teenagers, though many adults who aren’t shy about their love for teenage literature enjoy my work as well. I was born in South Carolina and grew up in the desert landscapes of Arizona. My educational journey took me to universities in San Francisco and Atlanta, and currently, I reside in the picturesque mountains of North Carolina, surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and wild blueberries. My husband, Jarrod, who is also my best friend, stands out as the most incredible person in my life. Our home is a vibrant display of colors, with each room painted in a different shade of the rainbow. We live with two elderly dogs and a mischievous cat named Mr. Tumnus.

During the weekdays, you can find me immersed in reading and writing, usually at my desk, which tends to be cluttered with various tea cups and coffee mugs as I gaze intently at my laptop screen. Weekends are often spent nestled in the seats at movie theaters, eagerly anticipating romantic scenes. In my view, both novels and movies could benefit from more romance.

Pinpointing the exact moment I decided to pursue writing as a career is challenging. My passion for storytelling has always been a part of me, even though it took many years to turn it into a profession. Despite having a degree in creative writing, I initially tried to push myself towards what many consider a "real" job. Thankfully, the persistence of the literary muse won out in the end. Throughout my life, I have consistently worked with books, whether as a bookseller, librarian, or now as an author. I find joy in their scent, the tactile feel of their pages, and the escapism they provide with each "Once Upon a Time." Life without literature is unimaginable for me.
