The Icelandic writer, known for authoring eight books, began his writing career in 1996 with the prose piece "Dyrnar á Svörtufjöllum". His most recent work is the 2009 crime novel titled "Hyldýpi". Originating from the town of Ólafsvik in western Iceland, he currently resides in Reykjavik. Before venturing into writing, he worked in various fields, including as a laborer, guard, and carpenter. His seventh book, "Statek", released in 2006, received the Blood Drop award and was nominated for the Glass Key, a prestigious award granted to the best Scandinavian crime novel. "Statek" has been translated into English, Czech, Danish, German, and French, achieving international acclaim.
