Sharna Jackson is a prominent author and Artistic Director focused on crafting and implementing digital projects that engage children and youth with social themes across various cultural, publishing, and entertainment fields. She is particularly committed to enhancing the involvement of diverse and previously disengaged groups in the arts both locally and on a wider scale. Among her literary works are five books, notably including the Tate Kids British Art Activity Book, Tate Kids Modern Art Activity Book, and High Rise Mystery, which marks the start of a captivating middle-grade series starring a sibling detective duo. In 2013, Sharna was recognized as one of The Bookseller's Rising Stars.
In 2020, she served as the Southbank Centre’s Imagine A Story author. Her past role as Artistic Director at Site Gallery in Sheffield, a renowned international hub for contemporary art specializing in moving images, new media, and performance, highlights her leadership in artistic endeavors. Additionally, Sharna has contributed to the Sheffield Doc/Fest board, participated in BAFTA’s Children’s and Learning and New Talent committees, and been part of the advisory board for the Children’s Media Conference. Originally from Luton, Sharna now resides in both Sheffield and Rotterdam, where she lives on a historic ship built in 1897.
