Angela Y. Davis - sylwetka autora

Political activist, feminist, writer, and public speaker, she vocally opposes oppression and exploitation. She is actively involved with movements such as the Black Panther Party and initiatives advocating against violence towards women and civil rights activism. Her writing focuses on the emancipation of African Americans in the United States, the abolition of the current prison system, and the complex intersections of race, gender, and social class. Some of her notable works include "Women, Race, and Class" and "Are Prisons Obsolete?". She has been the subject of documentaries like "Angela Davis: Portrait of a Revolutionary" (1972) and "Free Angela and All Political Prisoners" (2013). Currently retired, she served as a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. None of her publications have been translated into Polish yet.
