Andrzej Gnarowski - sylwetka autora

The individual in question is a poet and critic, hailing from Warsaw where he was born in 1940. His poetic debut took place in 1971 in the monthly publication "Więź." Over the years, his work has been featured in numerous periodicals such as "Tygodnik Kulturalny," "Twórczość," "Literacki Miesięcznik," "Życie Literackie," "Literatura," "Poezja," "Kierunki," "Poezja Dzisiaj," and through "Londyńska Oficyna Poetów i Malarzy." He has also reached audiences via Polish Radio. Between 1982 and 1985, he contributed to the weekly "Tu i Teraz," and during the nineties, he wrote for "Wiadomości Kulturalne." At present, he collaborates with "Gazeta Kulturalna."

He has been honored with numerous poetry competition awards and participated in Poetry Festivals in Łódź. His body of work extends beyond poetry, including critical literary essays. As an active member of the Polish Writers' Union, he holds the position of Secretary for the Warsaw branch. Some of his poetry collections include: "Czas na nieobecność" (KAW, 1980), "Infradźwięki" (ZLP, Poznań 1993), "Wiersze wybrane" (Wydawnictwo B2, 1998), "Za późno" (Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek, 2003), and "Nie ma takiej miłości..." (Dom Wydawniczy DUET, Toruń 2007).

His poems have also been featured in a variety of anthologies, including "Sztuka latania" (Wydawnictwo Ciechanowskie Towarzystwo Naukowe, 1986), "Poezja Polska. Antologia Tysiąclecia" (Wydawnictwo Książkowe IBIS, 2002), "Mimo milczenia" (Oficyna Wydawnicza Ston2, Kielce 2002), "Pora poezji" (UmiG, Piaseczno 2003), "Srebrny listopad i Boskie znaki" (Poznań 2002 and 2003), and "Bez granic" (ZLP, Warszawa 2004). His work has been translated into several foreign languages. Furthermore, he is a member of the Main Board Presidium of the Polish Writers' Union.
